Engineered wood flooring consists of cross-grained, multi-ply wood-based core or plywood designed to minimize the chance of expansion and contraction due to change in relative humidity and temperature.

Prefinished engineered wood flooring is perfect for those areas of the house where solid wood flooring may not be suitable, such as basements, kitchens, powder rooms, utility rooms and any area with a concrete subfloor such as in a condominium.

Because the grains run in different directions, it is more dimensionally stable than solid wood.

With a wide variety of quality hardwood lamella (i.e. top veneer of an engineered wood) to choose from, the thickness of this top veneer - which is ranged from 3mm to 4mm provides a surface wear layer that is equivalent to that of a 3/4-inch solid wood floor.

This creates an advantage that prefinished engineered wood floors can be completely sanded and refinished up to several times to provide a lifetime of service and beauty.
